Sialkot Excise seals gloves factory on tax evasion charges

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed a gloves manufacturing factory on charges of property tax and professional tax evasion.

Reportedly, manufacturer-cum-exporter Haji Munir was defaulter of the Sialkot Excise since long. The department sent him many notices but he remained reluctant to pay default amount.

However, the officials raided the factory situated at Abbot Road, Sialkot, expelled the workers and sealed the factory.

The Excise and Taxation Department district officer told Customs Today that department has started operation against tax defaulters, adding that the sealed properties will be unsealed after depositing the outstanding amount with fine.
