Sialkot exporters plying vital role to strengthen national economy

SIALKOT: Leading industrialists of Gujrat have hailed the unique export culture of Sialkot and socio-economic development in the city on self-help basis.

They said that the Sialkot exporters had been playing a pivotal role in strengthening the national economy and boosting the national exports by earning the foreign exchange to the tune of $2 billion annually.

They stated this while addressing an important meeting of the Sialkot-based leading exporters held at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Friday.

A delegation of the Gujrat based industrialists led by officials of Gujrat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here. They also stressed the need of developing the strong mutual trade links between SCCI and GCCI as well.

On this occasion, president of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Majid Raza Bhutta gave a detailed briefing to the GCCI delegation about the achievements, targets/goals and future plans of the Sialkot exporters, besides, sharing in details the ideas and observations of Sialkot exporters for enhancing the national exports as well.

GCCI president Sheikh Abrar Saeed, Usman Zafar (general secretary) and Nadeem Cheema (former SVP) jointly led this delegation.

The GCCI delegation led by VP SCCI Mian Imran Akbar also visited the several departments of SCCI including public relations, memberships, accounts, library, publications, women entrepreneurs’ department, research and development (R&D), besides, meeting the heads of different departmental committees of SCCI.

SCCI’s Research and Development Officers (RDOs) Umair Nisar, Salman Mir, Miss Mehmooda Nadeem Butt and Mis Atqa Arshad also gave detailed briefing about SCCI’s advanced research and development works/projects to GCCI delegation as well.

The GCCI delegation announced their full cooperation for working mutually with SCCI for strengthening the national economy by taking benefits from each other’s experiences and observations, besides, developing the mutual research and development (R&D) works and to establish and develop the strong mutual trade relations between the industrialists and exporters of both Sialkot and Gujrat as well.

They also hoped that the Pakistan’s first ever Golden Export Triangle comprising Sialkot, Gujrat and Gujranwala districts would help to open the new vistas of socio-economic and human development in this region.
