Sialkot FIA arrests two persons involved in hundi/hawala business

SIALKOT:The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two accused who are involved in doing illegal business of hundi/hawala.

Sources told Customs Today that FIA team conducted a operation under the supevision of Inspector Khizar Hayat  in China Chowk and arrested two accused persons

The FIA arrested persons are identified as Saleem Sarwar and Iqbal, allegedly involved in running the illegal business of hundi/hawala. The raiding party also seized Rs 273000, respectively, from the accused. Moreover, a number of registers/receipts, cheque books, deposit slips and visiting cards were also recovered from the premises.

Sources said that accused Saleem Sarwar and Iqbal were running the illegal business of hundi from many years, Saleem Sarwar is a resident of Bahawalpur. Sourcea said that FIA started crack down on illegal money transfer channels of hawala and hundi under the National Action Plan (NAP). The government believes the illegal channels serve as the prime means for terror outfits to receive funding and to move their money undetected.The FIA registered FIR against the accused and started investigation.
