Sialkot FIA nabs owner of illegal money exchange from airport

SIALKOT: A team of  Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) raided at Sialkot international airport and arrested accused Kashif for running an illegal money exchange in his tuck shop there.

Khalid Anees (Divisional Deputy Director FIA) Khalid Anees told that the accused was running illegal money exchange in his tuck shop there at Sialkot international airport for the last several years. FIA also seized a bulk of cash in national and foreign currencies from there.

He added that FIA has sent the accused behind the bars after registering a case against him. Further investigations were underway, in this regard.

Meanwhile, District Council Sialkot has approved its Rs.785 million tax-free budget, to be spent till June 30, 2017.

Chairperson Miss Hina Arshad Warraich presided over this special budget session held at Anwar Club Auditorium Sialkot here. She told the House that no new tax has been levied. She said that Rs602 million have been allocated for different development schemes, while Rs168 million for non-development schemes.

In Daska, the Municipal Committee Daska has also approved its Rs.146 million tax-free budget. Chairman Khawaja Atif Raza presided over this budget session. He told that Rs.32 million have been allocated for development schemes in Daska and Rs. 61.5 million have been allocated for the staff salaries as well.
