Sialkot RTO collects Rs 915m in April 2016, Rs 92m more than last year

SIALKOT: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) collected Rs 915 million during April 2016, surpassing the collections of the corresponding period by Rs 92 million.

The RTO collected taxes under the head of sales tax, income tax, withholding tax and federal excise duty (FED) during the period. It collected Rs 823 million under the head of taxes in April 2015.

Meanwhile, the RTO received 386 returns under Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) collecting Rs 32.268 million since its launching. It may mention here that the government has extended the deadline for reduced rate of WHT on banking transaction for non-filers till May 31.

Talking to Customs today, Sufi Muhammad Sarwar, an official here at Sialkot RTO, said that the department was taking effective measures in order to achieve the assigned revenue target. He added that target will be achieved by the end of current fiscal year.
