Sikh pilgrim thanks Customs Inspector Khalid Butt for safely returning his bag

LAHORE: An Indian Sikh pilgrim, who was visiting Pakistan on the eve of celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary, forgot his bag full of cash during his immigration at Customs counter, Wagha border. He reached Lahore from India along with thousands of Sikh pilgrims to participate in the celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary.

According to details, Sardar Gurdeep Singh forgot his bag at customs counter on November 17; when he reached Nankana Sahib he realized that he has forgotten his bag at Wagha border. He came back to Wahgha where Customs officials returned his bag with cash and other goods.

Sardar Gurdeep Singh thanked Pakistani customs officials especially Inspector Khalid Butt who was on duty at that time when he forgot his bag at the counter.

Sardar Gurdeep gave one lakh rupees to Khalid Butt but Pakistani official denied to receive that cash. Inspector Khalid Butt said it was his duty to take care of goods belonging to their guests so he will not receive any reward against his duty.
