Sindh Excise recovers Rs 3m tax, impounds 479 vehicles in Karachi

KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department, during the ongoing campaign against tax defaulters, has checked 13,219 vehicles and impounded 479 vehicles on non payment of taxes.

The department also seized the documents of 1,531 vehicles and recovered Rs 3,021,133 in term of taxes.

The action was taken during the Road-Checking Campaign against tax defaulters, launched on the directives of Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Mukesh Kumar Chawla, said a statement.

The campaign was launched on September 20 in which the E&T Department formed 12 teams that are checking vehicles on 46 different points in Karachi. The minister has directed the checking teams to perform duties honestly and make maximum tax recovery and assured them that awards would be given to best performers.
