Sindh Excise seals six factories, 2 schools due to property tax evasion

KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has sealed six factories and two private schools due to property tax evasion.

Sources told Customs Today that six factories had been avoiding to pay property tax from the last four years. The sealed factories include Samna Industries, Samna Plastic, Arjumand Chemicals, Imran Dyeing, Mazhar and Company and Suleman Sanitaryware.

Sources said that the Excise Department had sent them notices three times, asking them to clear their outstanding dues but they had failed to do so Now the department has given them deadline of January 10 to clear the property tax after which their properties will be restored.

Sources said that Excise Department also sealed the buildings of Golden Children School and Happy Children Academy as these two educational institutions failed to submit property tax.
