Sindh Excise seizes 100-litre liquor, 410g opium

KARACHI: The Excise and Taxation Department has recovered 100 litres of liquor and 410gram opium in two different raids and arrested two suspects in Mirpurkhas.

According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, a team of E&T department, led by IO Mir Ghulam Hussain Talpur raided in Islamkot area and recovered 100 litres liquor from the possession of accused Padmoon and registered a case against him.

In another raid the E&T team led by ETO Abdul Jabbar in Diplo District, Mithi recovered 410 gram opium from the possession of accused Alif Nuhri.

Investigations are under way against both the accused. While appreciating the performance of E&T department Mirpurkhas, the Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla has directed the officials to perform their duties more diligently and he has also reiterated his commitment to continue his struggle against the sale of liquor and narcotics.
