Sindh’s Customs, Taxation Court gets Judge after 8 months

KARACHI: The Customs, Taxation and Anti-Smuggling Court Sindh has finally got full time special judge after a lapse of at least eight months, it is learnt.

The Ministry of Law has finally appointed Syed Faiz Rasool Rashidi as the special judge of the Customs Court. His appointment was made after recommendations of the Chief Justice Sindh High Court, sources told Customs Today.

Sources said that the Customs, Taxation Court had a full time judge Justice Sophia Lateef. And after her retirement, Justice Sophia was made Chairman Drugs Court Sindh and Judge of Bank Crimes  Arshad Noor was made Link Judge of the Customs, Taxation and Anti -Smuggling Court who is supposed to hear just the emergency cases.

The Court gave a crowded look however no case was taken up by the new Special Judge as what the sources claimed the judge was reading all the pending cases and it is expected that the pending cases would be heard on regular basis to give relief to people.
