SMEDA-LCCI sign MoU for SME development

Lahore: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build up a platform for SME development initiatives and forging an effective relationship between private and public sector to explore avenues for SMEs development in the country. The manuscript of the MoU was signed by Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, CEO SMEDA and Farooq Iftikhar, President LCCI.

The signing ceremony was attended by Sultan Tiwana, GM-Business and Sector Development and Alamgir Chaudhry, GM-Outreach of SMEDA.

Whereas LCCI President was accompanied by former President Mian Misbahur Rehman, Rehmatullah Javaid, Engineer Mumshad Ahmad and the newly elected VP Kashif Anwar on this occasion.

Under the MOU, both organizations shall take concrete steps to define the terms of co-operation between the two organizations for extending their cooperation, resources and expertise for promotion and development of projects relating to their mutual objectives

The MoU will help supplement LCCI and SMEDA’s strength in developing comprehensive database of SMEs, conducting SME related research and formulating an annual calendar of capacity building activities. Moreover, two separate series of co-branded awareness seminars on “Off-Grid Energy Solutions” and “IP Rights” will be launched and the LCCI FM Radio will also be used to spur such awareness initiatives.
