MULTAN: Accomplices of a notorious smuggler allegedly attacked Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan teams for seizing the truck.
According to details, notorious smuggler Haji Sadiq Achakzai and his mates attacked the Customs Intelligence and Investigation (CII) team near Vehari Road to release their seized goods. Investigation team has seized the smuggled goods worth Rs 11 million from Sadiqabad region during a crackdown a few days ago.
Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized miscellaneous goods, including 500 tyres of the various brands, imported parachute cloth of 3250 kilograms and 600 motorcycles.
More than 12 people attacked the Investigation team with stones and bricks and tried to snatch the smuggled truck from Customs team but they failed to do that as the local police reached there on time.Customs has lodged an FIR against 12 unidentified persons who were involved in this attack.
Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan, Nisar Ahmad has directed his staff to guard themselves more carefully as Smugglers are attacking the staff of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan for the smuggling of their goods. Nisar Ahmad have instructed staff to operate wisely in the region against the smugglers and smuggling goods to prevent from their attacks.
