Chief Collector Nazim Saleem calls report on anti-smuggling steps by Jan 20

KARACHI: Chief Collector Enforcement (South) Muhammad Nazim Saleem has written letters to the Collectors of MCC-Preventive, Karachi; MCC-Hyderabad, MCC-Gwadar and MCC-Quetta in order to submit the performance report of their respective Collectorates in terms of anti-smuggling activities in the Office of the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) by January 20, Customs Today learnt on Wednesday.

The Chief Collector-Enforcement (South), in the letter, asked the authorities concerned of all four Collectorates to mention revenue involved in auction and in anti-smuggling activities by Jan 20. In the letter, Nazim Saleem emphasized on the precautionary measures decided in the meetings co-chaired by FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa and Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali Khan on October 21 and November 26, 2014 in the Custom House, Karachi.

The Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) further lauded the efforts of the Preventive, Hyderabad, Gwadar and Quetta Collectorates in revenue collection and actions taken against smuggling activities in the beginning of third quarters of the fiscal year2014-15. The Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) further urged the authorities concerned of all four Collectorates to continue the same pace in terms of revenue recovery and anti-smuggling activities in order to achieve the targets by the end of third and fourth quarters of the FY2014-15.
