KARACHI: Customs Anti-Smuggling Marine Section successfully conducted operations in open waters, thwarting an attempt to smuggle 39,000 liters of Iranian diesel.
Three launches, identified as Al-Sadaf, Al-Rehman, and Al-Sheiran, were intercepted and seized during the operation. These vessels were being used for the illegal transportation of diesel.
The total value of the seized diesel and launches is estimated at Rs. 39 million. This operation is part of Customs’ ongoing efforts to curb smuggling activities and ensure compliance with the law in maritime areas.
Earlier, Regional Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) with the assistance of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) have impounded methamphetamine (crystal ice) worth Rs10 billion and arrested seven suspects, including five foreigners.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Intelligence & Investigation team seized 675 kilograms of methamphetamine from the deep-sea fishing boat.
