TOKYO: The Japanese telecom operator, Softbank has sold out all 300 units of a newly developed robot for software developers. The human-like robot can talk and read human expressions.
Dubbed Pepper, the robot is 120 centimeters tall and weighs 28 kilos. The 300 units were sold online and at stores for software developers. They sold out quickly.
The robot is equipped with cameras, microphones and sensors. It is linked to a cloud server and converses with humans after analyzing facial expressions and tones of voice.
