OSLO: Danang, Vietnam based Song Thu Corporation shipyard (Damen Shipyards Group) held the ceremonial launching of Severnaya Dvina dredger of Project TSHD 2000 built to the order of FSUE Rosmorport, Rosmorport’s press center says.
The ceremony was attended by Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Danang Andrei Brovarets, Rosmorport Director General Andrei Tarasenko, representatives of Damen Shipyards Group and Song Thu shipyard management.
The vessel has been named Severnaya Dvina after the river in the European part of Russia which flows into the Dvina Bay of the White Sea near Arkhangelsk and Severodvisk. Rosmorport is going to use the ship for maintenance dredging to ensure safe navigation within the water area and at the approaches to the seaport of Arkhangelsk.
Damen Shipyards Gorinchem (Netherlands) won the open tender in 2013 following which a contract was signed with FSUE Rosmorport for designing and construction of a dredging vessel.
