Sost dry port collects Rs 1584m till Nov 14

ISLAMABAD: Sost dry port of Model Customs Collectorate, Gilgit-Baltistan collected Rs 1584.045 million under all head of duty/taxes during first four and half months of running financial year 2016-17.

Officials said that the collectorate will achieve its assigned annual target within 6 months because of rapid trade activities at the dry port. They added that the dry port collected Rs 1129.04 million as duty/taxes during same period of last financial year 2015-16.

During November 1 to 14, it generated Rs 207.869 million as duty/taxes, while during the same period of last year the collection stood at Rs 372.098 million.

In October 2016, the dry port collected revenue as duty/taxes to the tune of Rs 351.567 million, while the same stood at Rs 206.546 million during October 2015. The department collected Rs 428.76 million during September 2016, while it generated Rs 208.532 million during same period of last year.

The customs collected Rs 392.352 million as duty/taxes at the dry port during August 2016, while it generated Rs 190.281 million during same period of last year.

During July 2016, the GB collected revenue to the tune of Rs 203.494 million against Rs 151.58 million as duty/taxes during the same period last year.
