SOTI to invest $150m in Canada over next 3 years

TORONTO: SOTI SYNC Conference — SOTI Inc. CEO Carl Rodrigues announced the company will invest $150 million in Canada over the next three years, including a $50 million investment in research and development, more than 300 new jobs, and a new five-acre high-tech campus.
“For two decades, SOTI’s strong technology leadership and Canadian innovation has helped shape the future of mobile technology around the globe, with more than 20 million devices under SOTI management today,” Mr. Rodrigues said. “We proudly call Canada our home, and continue to focus on driving mobile innovation for the vibrant ecosystem of global enterprise customers and partners that count on SOTI as a trusted mobility visionary.”
SOTI, the world’s leading provider of Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solutions, recently opened a Research and Innovation Lab (SOTI RIL) located in Waterloo, Ontario. Building on this commitment to tech innovation, in the next three years, the company is making R&D investments totaling $50 million in Canada to reflect its focus on advanced mobility management technologies and leading-edge Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, for the benefit of SOTI’s 15,000 global customers.
Key highlights of the announcement also include:
300 new jobs in Canada in the next 3 years: With a 30 percent annual increase in its Canadian-based staff in the last year, SOTI will add approximately 300 net new jobs in Canada during the next 36 months. The majority of the new positions are in engineering and software development roles focused on tech-centric innovation.
53 percent year-over-year increase in revenue in FY15: The company has posted a 53 percent revenue growth in its most recent fiscal year ending July 31st, 2015, contributing to strengthening Canadian knowledge capital and the economy.
Two decades of profitability: SOTI announced its 20th year of consecutive profitability as a private company, with no external funding.
New 150,000 square foot facility: SOTI’s expanding workforce also requires additional office space. In the spring of 2016, SOTI will break ground on its new five-acre Mississauga campus and headquarters. With a modern design aesthetic built to inspire creativity and employee collaboration, the state of the art facility will include an indoor recreation facility, onsite employee amenities and a commitment to sustainable materials.
During its 20-year history, the company has evolved from a one-man operation to a global enterprise, with 6 global offices and a workforce across 22 countries, with a self-sustaining financial model. SOTI unleashes the potential of the connected enterprise for its thousands of customers, and has built important relationships with a partner ecosystem of more than 2,000 OEMs, distributors, resellers, systems integrators, and technology integration partners to enable mobility solutions for businesses around the world.
