TOKYO: Square Enix have updated the demo version for “Final Fantasy 15” by adding various new features to it and polishing the overall package by fixing bugs and making the gameplay a little bit smoother overall. The demo is still exclusive for those who have bought the day one edition of “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD”, and the update will be available to all owners of the game. There has been no information about any possible delays in releasing the update to different players, so it should arrive across the board simultaneously.

The developers have also released a brand new tech demo showing off the Luminous Studio that powers the game, allowing fans and critics to get an even deeper insight into the technology behind “Final Fantasy 15”, and giving everyone an even stronger reassurance that this title is going to be amazing in every way, including its technological side.

Meanwhile, the studio has been making the transition between DirectX 11 and DirectX 12, something that’s supposed to give them a lot more possibilities for developing the game further and creating interesting content for it that runs smoothly on all platforms.

One thing that some critics have noted is that fans should take the tech demo with a grain of salt, because it’s not actually indicative of what the game will contain – it’s just a showcase of what Square Enix could theoretically do if they wanted to. But just because something is shown in the tech demo, this doesn’t mean we’ll get to see the same effect in the final release as well.

In addition, the demo was shown running on a 4 X GTX Titan, something that’s definitely not representative of the average hardware quality that the typical gamer has. Still, hardware is getting better and better, and there will likely be some additional improvements by the time the game is out too, so we never know if this kind of setup might become viable at some point in the near future.

The use of DirectX 12 in the game is going to help the development team significantly, and the studio has already confirmed the various benefits that this has brought to the table. They are able to better streamline their development process and improve the overall quality of the game, and it looks like a lot less work is going into “overhead” as was the case before, at least from what we can tell judging by comments made by the studio.
