Punjab Excise Dept cautions new year revellers to stay away from alcohol

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has urged people to stay away from alcohol during New Year celebrations.

According to Excise officials, raw and fake alcohol could be fatal for the users as it contains venomous chemicals. The department has already initiated an advocacy campaign to educate people in this regard.

Raw alcohol has claimed hundreds of human lives and a good number of people use alcohol on special occasions.

The Excise and Taxation Department has formed three special teams to stop the sale of fake booze and drugs in Lahore.

Excise ETO Lateef Anjum has formed these teams under the supervision of Zaman Sindhu, Waqas Aslam and Nasrullah and has directed them to take strict action against drug dealers and alcohol sellers.
