KARACHI: Despite yesterday’s massive fall over poetical turmoil, the Karachi stocks started on Thursday with positive note as KSE-100 index gained 65.26 points in early trading.
On Wednesday, KSE-100 index suffered a sharp fall of 313.17 points (0.86 per cent) to close at 35,892.77. The investors were confused by the developments on the political front as members of a leading political party (MQM) tendered their resignations from the Sindh Assembly and the two houses of the parliament.
The index opened in the positive and rose to intra-day gains of 104 points before it succumbed to all round selling pressure. Volume of shares traded increased to 360 million of Rs13.5 billion value.
