Tax evasion: Bio Amla owner still absent from court

LAHORE: Kashif Zia, the owner of a famous Pakistani cosmetics brand, is absent from the court since his bail plea was rejected from the Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling.

The court will issue a notice for his availability in the court in the next hearing and after that notice he may be declared as a proclaimed offender.

Earlier, Director of Bio Amla Cosmetics had fled from the court premises after the Customs Court rejected his bail plea. Kashif Zia, the owner of Bio Amla Shampoo Company, is involved in tax evasion of Rs 1.3 million.

Customs team registered a case against him last year when they found him involved in tax evasion. He was showing his sales record very low as compared to the original sales. In this regard, he was brought to the court by the Federal Board of Revenue Lahore authorities. During the hearing of the case, the FBR investigation team had also submitted proofs against his tax evasion.
