Tax evasion: Court rejects bail plea of Al Faisal Export’s owner

LAHORE: The Session Court rejected bail plea of Muhammad Asim, owner of Al Faisal Export who was arrested by Regional Tax office-I Lahore while he tried to illegally transport the machinery from a factory sealed by FBR.

As per details, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-I (RTO-I) team had arrested the owner of Al-Faisal Exports when he was attempting to shift the machinery equipments from a factory, sealed by the department.

RTO-I team in supervision of Commissioner Inland Revenue, Asim Majeed, had sealed the Anmol Engineering Works, a factory due to the evasion of Rs 240 million taxes and arrested the owner, Rana Ashiq. The RTO was also trying to arrest his partner and owner of Al-Faisal Export, besides putting the name of the accused on Exit Control List (ECL).

Later, Commissioner Asim Majeed received information that the owner of Al Faislal Export has broken the seal and loading the machinery on which a team comprising Deputy Superintendent Rafique Mian, Inspector Ehtshamul Haq, Zafer Iqbal and Muhammad Jameel was made to arrest the accused.

The team reached the place and arrested the accused, Muhammad Asim with the machinery and vehicles.
