Tax evasion: KP PRA seals M/s Awais Motors Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority  Enforcement team sealed the business premises of Awais Motors Kohat Road Peshawar for an alleged tax default on services of Rs68,177,660/- under the Enforcement Power Rules 2017.

The KP Revenue Authority (KPRA) Enforcement team headed by Deputy Collector Sharif Ullah and comprising of Enforcement Officer, Assistant Collector, Inspectors and other supporting staff conducted raid in the area of Kohat road Peshawar and sealed Awais Motors Business premises for not paying sales tax on services.

The team on the direction of Mohammad Nasir Khan DG KPRA, sealed the office of Awais Motors, for failing to pay Sales Tax on services amounting Rs. 68,177,660/- payable to the Government of KP.

DG KPRA told that, the owner of Awais Motors was given full opportunity to clear all the dues in terms of sales tax on services, but despite of many legal notices the owner did not comply which ultimately lead to seal his business and compel KPRA to use its Enforcement rules.

The DG further told that, legal notices have also been issued to other such business holders which are liable to pay Sales Tax on services and if they fail to comply, same action would be initiated against them. He requested all the stakeholders for voluntarily compliance to avoid enforcement action and play their role for the development and self-reliance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Action would be continued against the defaulters and tax evaders in terms of sales tax on services, in coming days he added.
