“Under the proposed plan the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and TDAP Secretary would be more decision making powers to resolve the issues at their own doorstep and to minimize MoC’s role in the resolution of the dispute and issues,” the source added, saying that MoC did not like to be entangled in petty issues therefore it wanted their resolution at local level. The source further said that some economic professionals would also be inducted in the TDAP at almost all levels to make programmes and activities of the organisation more effective and result-oriented.

Moreover, the source said that TDAP would be required to remain in constant contact with commercial attaches appointed in other countries for the specification and identification of different new regions and markets from the point of view of exports of Pakistani products. The source added that TDAP would also specify mode of exhibitions abroad; item specific or country specific and currently, support of the majority voice was for the item specific exhibitions in other countries.

“Under the proposed plan, TDAP would be asked to establish exhibition centers at major international business hubs and markets like Dubai, UAE and will spend funds on marketing campaign after research of demand of products in those markets,” the source added, saying that Minister for Commerce would talk to Prime Minister for the provision of additional funds if required to meet the purpose.
