TDCP to verify record of cotton purchase by factories at support price

MULTAN: The Trading Corporation of Pakistan will verify the records of cotton factories to ensure the accord of cotton purchase at support price.

There are 652 cotton factories of Pakistan which are purchasing cotton with bargain price of Rs 2,200 to 2,600 per 40 Kilogram instead of Rs 3,000.

The government of Pakistan has inked an agreement with Trading Corporation of Pakistan to purchase one million cotton bales at price of Rs 3000 per 40 kilogram to assist farmers of cotton financially. The Ministry of Commerce has ordered all four provincial assemblies to take notice of this matter that cotton factories were purchasing cotton with the reduced price of their desire to earn more profit. The Trading Corporation of Pakistan was directed by the Ministry of Commerce to purchase one million cotton bales to rescue cotton cultivators in this crisis.
