Ten vehicles & smuggling items valued at Rs36.16m taken into possession by Islamabad ASO

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Islamabad impounded smuggling goods and vehicles worth Rs36.16million during August Financial Year FY2017-18.

According to details given by newly appointed Assistant Collector Majid Hussain Gadd that, during above said period, the ASO Islamabad took into possession nine offending vehicles valued at Rs11.00million while it did one Non-Duty-Paid (NDP) vehicle worth Rs0.3 million.
He said that, during above said period, the ASO confiscated 7,969 yards of foreign origin fabrics priced at Rs4.01million whereas it did 10,343 kilogram of food grain worth Rs2.39million. The ASO seized 1,740 kg of smuggling tea priced at Rs0.513million and it did 145 tyres and tubes valued at Rs0.583 million.
The Assistant Collector told CT that, during August FY17-18, the ASO confiscated 104 alloy rims priced at Rs0.58million while it did 2,912 auto-parts valued at Rs0.635million. The ASO impounded 1,011 litre of Mobil oil worth Rs0.132million and 590 fake packs of cigarettes priced at Rs0.53million.
The ASO seized 837 electronic items during above said period valued at Rs1.16million whereas it did 972 toys priced at Rs0.145million. The ASO confiscated various brands of 56 Gutkas worth Rs0.011million while it did miscellaneous smuggling goods valued at Rs14.69million during August FY17-18.
