Tevta to produce 8,000 professionals annually

FAISALABAD: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has announced to offer industrial stitching machine operator short-course across the province to fulfil the demand of industries for trained manpower.

A spokesman of the Tevta told here on Sunday that the authority had established a training institution at Lahore in which this short course was offered in 2012. After getting better results of the experiment, the Tevta authorities had decided to offer this course in other parts of the province.

He said the Tevta had set a target to produce 8000 professionals of this short course annually and this trained force would be provided to the garments sector according to their demand. He further said that initially this course would be started in major cities of Punjab and no fee would be charged from the admission seekers rather they would be provided a monthly stipend of Rs 1000 during training period.
