Textile industrialists raise issue of power crisis with Dar

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and Pakistan Textiles Exporters Association (PTEA) representatives has called on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and discussed problems related to the textile industry with him.

The delegation lauded the government’s efforts in maximum power supply to the industry, but expressed their concern over interrupted gas supply and demanded its equitable distribution.

The federal minister assured the APTMA and PTEA representatives of addressing the issue on urgent basis. The delegation also discussed the issues regarding refund of advance sales tax with the minister. Ishaq Dar also directed Secretary Textile Industry to put up the Textile Policy draft in the next Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and senior officials of the Finance Ministry and Ministry of Textile Industry.
