LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has seized a huge quantity of narcotics, which was being supplied from Jamrud to Lahore.
Sources told Customs Today, an anti-narcotics cell of Punjab excise, during the patrolling in the area of Sher Kot, intercepted a car which was coming from M2 motorway. However, the driver of the car tried to fled away from the spot but the excise team captured him near Yateem Khana Chowk. The car was searched and the team founded 36 kilogram hashish and 16 kg other narcotics which were covered under the seats of the car.
The team arrested the driver of the car named Mukaram Khan. During initial investigation, the accuse said that he supplied drugs from tribal areas to Lahore and other cities.
The excise director general appreciated the team for foiling the smuggling attempt.
