DHAKA: The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) and the United States embassy in Dhaka have organized the event. Addressing the event as its chief guest, Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed urged entrepreneurs in the United States to come forward to invest in Bangladesh. “Foreign entrepreneurs could make investments here… The government has withdrawn double tax system for export items.”

Calling   the United States a large trade partner, he said Bangladesh exports products of $7 billion and imports goods worth nearly $1 million annually, but the US does not provide duty and quota free access to Bangladeshi garment products as per the World Trade Organisation (WTO) decision.
