Three suspended customs officials join inquiry in auto part clearance case

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Range Office has registered a case against three staff members for their alleged involvement in the clearance of auto parts consignment.

Principle Appraiser Safdar Abbas, Appraiser Imtiaz Ahmad and Examiner Qari Hammad have been found in the misappropriation of customs duty deliberately in the auto parts clearance. The customs authorities have suspended three employees in a case registered against them by customs intelligence and investigation.

Additional Director Nisar Ahmad have directed to register the case against the three alleged accused Qari Hammad, Safdar Abbas and  Imtiaz Ahmad  that were involved in the embezzlement of customs duty  of auto parts consignment clearance at   Karachi port Qasim. All three alleged accused have got interim bail after the registration of case to avoid arrest.

They have also joined investigation after interim bail in the registered case against them by Customs Intelligence and Investigation for further proceeding of the case registered against them.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan have provided them the Questionnaire for the investigation in which customs have asked for clarifications how they have assessed the customs duty tax for the clearance of consignment and all alleged accused  have taken two days duration for  the submission of their response.
