Torkham Customs falls Rs101.76m short of yesteryear’s collection

PESHAWAR: The Torkham Customs Station has collected Rs298.24million revenue in March of current Financial Year against Rs400million revenue generated in March of previous FY2016-17.

The Torkham Customs Station showed Rs101.76million of shortfall in the revenue collection.

The Customs Station Torkham generated Rs59.78million revenue of Customs Duty and an amount of Rs159.62million was done thru collection of Sales Tax in March of current FY.

The Customs Station Torkham received Rs17.97million revenue as Sales Tax on VM com imports while Rs60.87million was done from AIT in the month of March of current Financial Year.

Meanwhile, the Customs Air Flight Unit of the Bacha Khan International Airport has showed a revenue collection of Rs14.45million in the month of March of current Fiscal Year.

The Bacha Khan International Airport generated Rs5.48million revenue under the head of Customs Duties while an amount of Rs5.09million was done from Sales Tax.

The Bacha Khan International Airport earned Rs3.88million revenue from AIT in the month of March of current Financial Year. The sources informed Customs Today on Saturday that the AFU Peshawar has foiled a number of smuggling attempts which have also added part to the revenue collection.
