Torkham Customs Station generates Rs4240m revenue by November 30

PESHAWAR: The Torkham Customs Station of the Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar has collected an amount of Rs4240million revenue up to 30th of November of the current FY2017-18, informed by Muhammad Najib, Deputy Collector Customs at Torkham Custom Station on Friday, during a talk with Customs Today.

The duty collection by the Torkham Customs Station has been coming routinely after it had been disrupted by the border management and governments of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Torkham Customs Station has collected an amount of Rs1753.61million of Customs Duty from July to November during the current FY2017-18 and Rs937.36million revenue was generated as Sales Tax up to November during the current FY2017-18.

The Torkham Customs Station has received an amount of Rs109.39million of ST on VM Com imports while Rs0.42million was got as ST on VM palm oil up to November of current FY2017-18.

In the same way, an amount of Rs1439.75million was generated under the head of withholding tax during the current FY up to November.

The Deputy Collector lauded the efforts of the customs staff of the Torkham Station for frustrating the smuggling attempts which added valuable revenue to the collection of customs exchequer.

The Deputy Collector further said that, during the last month, the movement on Torkham border has been very smooth due to which trade activities across the border have increased.
