Toyota Corolla loaded with big quantity of hashish & opium impounded by Peshawar Customs

PESHAWAR: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Peshawar recovered narcotics worth millions of rupees from a Toyota Corolla car on GT Road, Pabbi district, Nowshera.

According to details explained by sources of I&I Peshawar that, under the instruction of Director I&I Peshawar Dr. Arslan, a campaign against the smuggling of narcotics was geared up. It was told that, on a secret info received by Director I&I, a sizeable quantity of narcotics would be smuggled from tribal area into the down of the country in a Toyota Corolla car.
Under above said information, the staff of the directorate set up a picket near Shobara Chowk. The suspected Toyota Corolla car, bearing registration No: FDT-733, was spotted coming from Peshawar side. The said vehicle was signaled to stop, but the driver ignored the signal and sped away. Upon chasing the same vehicle, the driver of the car ababdoned his vehicle and fled the spot.
The vehicle was searched by the staff of the Drug Cell which found hashish and opium tactfully concealed in the secret spaces of the reardoors of the car. The motorcar was brought to the premises of the Directorate of I&I Peshawar where a thorough search led to the recovery of 18.500 kilogram hashish and 01 kilogram opium which were taken into possession along with the vehicle.
The estimated value of the aforementioned impounded narcotics and vehicle is around Rs3million (Narcotics 1.9 million and vehicle Rs1million). An FIR No: 24 of 2018 dated 19.04.2018 has been lodged against unidentified driver and further investigation is underway.
