Two customs officials Arifullah, Dilawar Khan injured in Karkhano bomb blast

PESHAWAR: The tragic incident of Karkhano bomb blast also resulted in injury of two personnel of the Customs Department who were deputed near Karkhano check post for routine checking of non-custom paid vehicles.

Khyber Agency Political Agent Shahab Ali Shah said that the Assistant Line Officer and Khasadar officials were the target of suicide attacker. A suicide bomber parked his motorbike and moved forward towards the Khasadar officials, blowing himself up in Wazir Dand area of Jamrud tehsil, at a distance of a few step from Karkhano Market in Peshawar, an eyewitness said.

As a result of the powerful blast, 11 people, including president of the Tribal Union of Journalists Khyber Agency, Mehboob Shah Afridi and Assistant Line Officer Nawab Shah Afridi were killed. At least 36 others, including two custom officials, were injured.

The injured customs personnel were identified Arifullah and Dilawar Khan who were on their routine duty near Karkhano Market. The injured personnel were shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex where Additional Collector Seed Fazal Samad and Assistant Collector Naseer Khan visited to enquire about their health.
