KARACHI: Two Ships CMA CGA Indus and YM Miranda carrying containers and Chemical were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi-Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships Uni Florida, Tempanos and Schem Sinefora with containers and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the Port at 35% on Thursday where a total of six ships namely, CMA CGA Indus, Trade Will, Medi Chiba, White Purl, YM Miranda and Horizon and currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, Sun Flower seeds, Soya Bean seeds, Chemicals, LPG and Palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 62, 487 tonnes, comprising 44,304 tonnes import cargo and 18,183 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,796 Containers (TEUs), (839 TEUs imports and 957 TEUs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Container vessel CMA CGA Indus and Baulk cargo carrier Trade Will sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while Gas carrier White Purl and Chemicals carrier YM Miranda are expected to sail on same day.
Three ships, Tempanos, Uni Fortune Era and Bahra carrying Containers, Palm oil and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1 and FOTCO respectively on Friday, while containers vessel Prosper is due to arrive on at Port Qasim on same day and two more ships APL Austria and Cape Mayor are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
