U.S. Chamber Foundation host job fair for over 100 Veterans

WASHINGTON: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation hosted a job fair for the more than 100 Veterans in Tucson.44 Businesses from Tucson and Phoenix took part in the job fair.Event organizers said the national unemployment rate is around five percent. For veterans, it’s over 7 percent. Organizers said they are trying to reduce these numbers. From its job fairs over the last four years, more than 27,000 veterans have got a job.

Ildefonzo Villanueva, a veteran who served in the U.S. Army for more than 10 years, is hoping to get a job.”From the education I learned before, from the combat experience to logistics support side, it actually intertwines together,” said Villanueva. “I feel I am well-rounded.”Some of the employers at the job fair were veterans themselves.
