DEL RIO: Border Patrol agents assigned to the Uvalde Station recently apprehended a Honduran national suspected of a burglary after tracking him for two days. Agents assigned to the Uvalde Station recently apprehended a Honduran national suspected of a burglary after tracking him for two days.
“Our agents are skilled in various tracking techniques that are invaluable not only to the mission of securing our nation’s border, but also in the aid of search and rescue missions,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch. “Being able to track an individual for multiple days shows the teamwork and coordination agents acquire through their training and experience.”
Border Patrol agents encountered the male subject near Uvalde two days after he fled from a routine train check inspection. After questioning the individual, agents determined that he was an undocumented immigrant from Honduras. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the Uvalde Station for processing. At the station, agents discovered several items including approximately $54 in quarters, several watches and a U.S. Army graduation ring in the subject’s belongings. The items were consistent with those missing from a local home in Uvalde. The belongings were turned over to the Uvalde Police Department as evidence. The subject was then processed according to Del Rio Sector guidelines.
The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is part of the Joint Task Force-West South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations.
