AKLALHOMA::The former president and chief executive officer of the Abilene, Texas, Chamber of Commerce has been named head of the Norman Economic Development Coalition. Jason P. Wood retires in early August after more than 18 years as its leader.
A native Oklahoman, Smith spent his elementary and middle school years in Norman, Moore and Noble. His father was a school principal in the Norman public school system for nearly two decades, and his parents owned a small business in downtown Norman.
Smith has more than 18 years of economic development experience at the community and regional level..
