FORT LAUDERDALE: U.S. Customs and Border Protection will open a new Federal Inspection Station (FIS) located at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) this week.
The expanded CBP services at the airport provide advanced technology with a state-of-the-art facility that enhances security screening operations to facilitate international general aviation aircraft and passenger arrivals.

Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport’s close proximity to cruise line terminals at Port Everglades has made it popular among tourists bound for the Caribbean. It serves the corporate, recreational and training aviation uses, as well as other activities, and ranks as one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country.
“The City of Fort Lauderdale has been a tremendous partner by providing a facility with style and functionality that is one of the best equipped facilities in the country,” said U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port Director Jorge L. Roig. “We look forward to building on our partnership to better serve our community.”
The new facility was constructed using a design that supports CBP’s current inspection requirements and is adaptable to future workloads, technologies, and operational needs.
