LAHORE: Following recent engagements in Islamabad and Karachi, a visiting U.S. delegation arrived in Lahore to actively explore new investment opportunities. The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) effectively facilitated this crucial visit. Ultimately, the strategic tour aims to aggressively strengthen Pakistan-U.S. economic cooperation.
Initially, the delegation held a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She proactively highlighted Punjab’s investor-friendly policies and ongoing economic reforms. Furthermore, the Chief Minister pitched massive growth opportunities in IT, AI, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, and minerals.
Following this, the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade organized a highly targeted investment briefing. During the session, Punjab Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain presented the lucrative incentives currently available within the province’s Special Economic Zones. Additionally, he outlined deep investment potential across agriculture, energy, minerals, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and electric vehicles.
Beyond the boardroom, the delegation actively inspected local industrial hubs to gauge the province’s manufacturing capacity. Specifically, the team visited the Sundar Industrial Estate. Moreover, they comprehensively toured the operational facilities of Tetra Pak Pakistan and Colgate-Palmolive Pakistan.
Later, the delegation held crucial discussions at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These pivotal talks heavily focused on expanding bilateral trade, fostering private-sector collaboration, and building direct business-to-business linkages.
Consequently, the visiting delegation deeply appreciated Punjab’s thriving investment environment. The delegates expressed a strong interest in securing robust partnerships across multiple sectors. Ultimately, they firmly reaffirmed their commitment to forging stronger, long-term economic cooperation with Pakistan.
