ARIZONA: The new chair of the Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce plans to prioritize easing government business interaction during the next year. Tom McGovern took over the chairmanship at the annual Chairman’s Breakfast
“We have a number of business-friendly suggestions and requests of city government in order to help entice businesses to stay here, new businesses to come, and our existing businesses to be able to function better,” McGovern said.
The list includes simplifying processes such as permitting and zoning and clarification of city rules that govern how companies do business in Tucson.McGovern also wants to finish work on the Chamber’s efforts to secure a non-stop passenger airline flight from Tucson to New York City.
