Various contraband goods & two vehicles valued Rs03.7m taken into possession by Hyderabad ASO

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Hyderabad impounded smuggled items including two vehicles, foreign origin 400 crates of Rani Juice, foreign origin tubeless tyres, foreign origin car air-conditioner compressors and other contraband items worth Rs03.7million involving duty and taxes of Rs03.7million during different operations in June 2017.

The ASO team, following the guidelines of Hyderabad Customs Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq, conducted various raids on different areas of Hyderabad to confiscate the smuggled items under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro.

The ASO impounded smuggled goods including non-duty-paid two smuggled vehicles Toyota Land Cruiser Prado without registration and foreign origin non-duty-paid Wrangler Jeep also without registration. The value of both vehicles is Rs4.8million including duty and taxes.

The ASO officials also confiscated contraband items of foreign origin 100 tubeless tyres worth Rs750000 involving duty & taxes of Rs360774 and smuggled foreign origin 311 old useable car air-conditioner compressors valued Rs01.6million involving duty and taxes of Rs566362 and foreign origin non-duty-paid 400 crates of Rani Juice & foreign origin smuggled 42 tyres worth Rs748584 involving duty and taxes of Rs438979 during said period.

The ASO team, comprising Superintendent Ghulam Shabbir Phulpoto, Inspectors Mirza Asad Uddin, Iqbal Mughal, Imdad Ali Abro, Abdul Majeed Barich, Abid Khan and Mushtaq Ali Lakho, Sepoys Nenomal, Luqman, Abdul Razaq, Saddiq Khaskheli, Ghulam Sarwar, Umar Sulangi, Sarwar Ayoub, Hawaldar Muhram Thebo, Muhammad Ahmad, Drivers Sher Akbar, Ajaz Saddam, Jawaid Mashkoor and Nisar Ahmedani, took part in the action.

Talking to Customs Today, Customs Additional Collector Rehmatullah Vistro said the Hyderabad Customs showed excellent performance regarding the anti-smuggling actions during said period.
