DOHA: Vodafone Qatar reported an 8 percent fall in revenues for its fiscal first quarter to 30 June to QAR 538 million, hurt by tough price competition in the prepaid market.
EBITDA decreased by 31 percent year-on-year to QAR 110 million, and the net loss swelled to QAR 100 million, hurt by increased depreciation after higher investment in the past year.
Capital expenditure reduced to QAR 52 million in the latest quarter. The operator ended the quarter with 1.420 million mobile customers, an increase of 5 percent compared to 2014, while ARPU was QAR 111 for the period, down from QAR 131 a year ago.
