WB offers assistance to FBR for debugging IT system

ISLAMABAD: The World Bank (WB) has offered the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to devise a short; medium or long term plan for overhauling of IT system in order to eliminate problems being faced by the tax collection machinery.

The WB offered that plan in a meeting held here at FBR headquarters, which was attended by FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan and members.

The bank was told that FBR did not have any direct interaction system with taxpayers, as all taxpayers have to approach the board through Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL).

While the WB wanted to make a plan after conducting a survey to develop a direct interactive system between the taxpayers and FBR.

Meanwhile, FBR chairman informed the delegation of WB that the board wanted to overcome the IT problems, besides making the existing system better to facilitate the taxpayers.
