WB team visits FBR, discusses Economic Reform Program

ISLAMABAD: Team of World Bank has visited Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarter and met with the high-ups of FBR.

Sources told Customs Today that the team of World Bank met with FBR Chairman Jahanzib Khan while Member Policy Mohammad Iqbal, while other high officials were also present on the occasion. The team discussed Economic Reform Program (ERP) started by the government of Pakistan and Trust Fund for Accelerating Growth and Reforms (TAGR) which is started with the collaboration of World Bank.

Sources added that the team also reviewed and discussed the tax system in Pakistan and improvement/reforms in the tax system was also comes under discussion with the FBR.

The World Bank team also reviewed the suggestion and recommendation in order to enhance the revenue collection.

It is important to mention here that earlier this week a team of Asian Development Bank also visited the FBR headquarter where FBR Chairman Jahanzib Khan and Member Inland Revenue Operation presented the government stance in strong way.

Sources added that Asian Development Bank and World Bank showed their intentions of full cooperation with the board for Economic Reform.
