White spirit smuggling: Customs Court adjourns hearing of case till Sep 7

MULTAN,: Customs Court adjourned hearing of the case  of white Spirit smuggling case for 7th September.

According to details, Customs Collectorate Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization has unearthed the network involved in smuggling of white spirit. Multan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized smuggled white spirit of 60,000 liters in their action from jurisdiction.

Multan Customs has seized 60,000 liters of white spirit in their action few days ago and arrested two accused persons in their action from Multan. These arrested smugglers were identified as Nazir Khan and Wilayat Khan. Both accused were resident of Khushab area. Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution (I&P) department has probed the both arrested smugglers about foreign origin seized white spirit.

During the investigation of customs department it was revealed that said smugglers are operating a network of smuggling white spirit in the South Punjab and smugglers have made a warehouse where they used to dump the smuggled white spirit in the region of Kot Rab Nawaz vehari road.

Customs presented both accused to customs court where Waseem Shehzad has claimed ownership of foreign origin seized white spirit during hearing. Alleged owner was directed from Customs Court Judge to submit all possession and import related documents on next date of hearing. Because owner Waseem Shehzad was failed to present any import documents of seized quantity of white spirit during hearing in the Customs court on Monday 28th August. Customs I & P will also present their complete charge sheet of interrogation to Customs court for proceedings of charges.

Sources told that accused claim possession of foreign origin seized white spirit in the Customs Court but failed to prove its possession and Customs court gave deadline to present GDs and other related import documents of the white spirit on 7th September.
