World watching Pakistan as important regional player: Ahsan

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said that due to Chinese mega investment plans, world is watching Pakistan as important player in the region.

He said this while addressing the ‘11th CEO SUMMIT ASIA 2015’, best leadership award ceremony & book launch of ‘100 Best Performing CEOs, Leaders & Companies of Pakistan 2015’ held at a local hotel.

The minister said the corporate sector and masses should alter their approach towards Pakistan as positive in tandem with visible development and peaceful scenario across the country which was made possible with efforts of democratic government.

He said Pakistan has been changed into a different and a progressing country having a lot of potential for foreign and local investors and businessman to start and expand their business on the land of world’s new emerging economy.

Aamir Niazi (CEO, Descon Oxychem & Descon Chemicals Ltd); Ijaz Nisar founder & President CEO Club Pakistan & Manager Today Magazine; Atif Bajwa (President & CEO – Bank Alfalah Limited); Muhammad Ali Tabba (CEO – Lucky Cement Ltd); Irfan Siddiqui (President & CEO – Meezan Bank Ltd); Marvi Memon MNA PML; S M Muneer, Chief Executive TDAP; Nadeem Hussain (founder/president – Tameer Microfinance Bank); Khalid Nawaz Awan Chairman – TCS; Dr S Mujtaba Ghaus (Chairman, Grace Refinery Limited Pakistan); Junaid Ahmed (CEO, Dubai Islamic Bank Pakistan) and others address on the occasion.

As many as 600 top chairmen, CEOs, presidents, MDs, country managers, entrepreneurs, government officials, business hitachi, diplomats, business leaders and C-level management attended the event.
