ISLAMABAD – Official sources claimed that a sum of $13 billion will be spent on power generation through alternative sources and 3,600 megawatt additional electricity will be produced with LNG imported from Qatar.
Radio Pakistan quoting the official sources as saying several hydel, solar and wind energy projects have been launched for the purpose.
They added steps are being taken to control power theft and replace old and obsolete power transmission lines to avoid line losses. They said that the plan had been devised to fight the persistent energy crisis and provide relief for the people.
